About Andres

Having worked across California and New York, Andres has gained a diverse range of clinical and theoretical skills, shaped by experiences in psychiatry, schools, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Early in his career, he worked with severe, treatment-resistant depression, utilizing neuroscience-based modalities such as TMS, neurofeedback, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. Andres uses insights gained from those modalities to have a more complete understanding of the human experience and help my clients gain a deeper understanding of their lives.

Andres’s approach is equal parts rigorous and compassionate. He believes that psychological symptoms, while painful, are also powerful messages—clues that speak to unmet desires, unresolved conflicts, and deep-seated wounds. In his work, he aims to help you uncover and understand these messages. He sees therapy as a collaborative space where the intimacy of speaking and being truly heard can lead to profound self-discovery. Anxiety, for instance, often hides a passionate dream that has yet to be fully encountered.

In his psychodynamic treatment, Andres explores the intricate weave of his patients’ lives—past and present, fantasy and reality. While this approach is not a quick fix, it is a transformative process that helps anxieties, relationship struggles, and creative blocks dissolve over time. Whether patients are grappling with career concerns, unresolved disappointments, or inhibitions around desire and creativity, Andres believes lasting change is possible.

Outside of therapy, Andres can often be found exploring California’s trails or immersing himself in reading and writing projects. His personal life reflects the same curiosity and passion he brings to his work as a therapist.
